Scoping out the future of the federal workforce.

An interview with Partnership for Public Service vice president of policy John Palguta is presented. Palguta believes that federal employees are an easy target for cost-cutting measures as many are convinced that they are overpaid. When asked on what are the consequences of reducing the size of nonmilitary federal workforce, he says its effect varies from agency to agency, but the common theme may be that not much work can be done. He adds that federal managers are important during this episode in order to keep the morale of their staff high.
