Abstract
- The article provides information on the National Fishing Schools Program (NFSP) in the U.S. which aims to re-establish a connection between the natural environment and children. The pilot program was initiated in Nebraska in 2009 wherein around 200 teachers in 100 schools were trained by state fish and wildlife agencies about the basics of fly fishing. To enhance the science-education value of the NFSP, it implements an 11-step system to educate students about the proper way of setting up and executing a cast.
