A guidepost for academic publishing in the changing scholarly information environment: Revision of SIST 07/08 as new standards for making scholarly journals and papers.

The article analyzes the reasons for the revision of the "Standards for Information of Science and Technology (SIST) 07: Publication and Components of Scholarly Journals," and the "SIST 08: Preparation and Components of Scholarly Papers," in the year 2010 by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology. The author analyzes several aspects of the revision, including dissemination of electronic journals and settlement of international guidelines.
