Abstract
- The article presents a review on the positive developments in the communications front in general and related to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and unified communications in particular for 2010. Movers for the year included Apple which unveiled the iPad, Microsoft's introduction of PBX functionality within its Office Communications Server 2007 R2 product and the introduction of telepresence solutions from BrightCom, Polycom and Vidyo. It notes that BroadSoft went public while Skype filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in August 2010.
