Abstract

The article discusses the prevention of anxiety in swim checks at the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) in the U.S. It notes that unit leaders must demonstrate proper reaction in deep water by swimming for 75 yards in a strong manner then turn and swim 25 yards in a resting stroke. It mentions that the unit leaders must explain that the swim check is not a test but a classification exercise.
