Abstract

The authors discuss the results of their study on the prevalence of fish louse on Indian snow trout and golden mahseer in the subtropical Himalayan Lake of Bhimtal, Uttarakhand, India. About 1,120 fishes out of 2,187 were infested with fish louse. The abundance rate of infestations was 1.05% while mean intensity was 2.06%. September has the highest prevalence at 70.1% than any other month and water temperature played a role in the prevalence.
