Abstract
- Natalie Zemon Davis is one of the pioneers in the study of international Women History. Her great contributions are laid on emphasizing the difference between the concepts of sex and gender and putting equal focus on the female and male history, which are the theoretic foundation of other historians who develop gender theory further. The paper presents her thought of women history and gender history based on her main works Society and Culture in Early Modern France, Fiction in the Archives and Women on the Margins from three aspects "female images under patriarchal control, female images from the lower classes, female images from margin to center". It also provides some references for historiophoty research at home by exploring her historical thoughts and methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
