Abstract
- The article focuses on a study which examined the pathogenesis of astrovirus, reovirus and rotavirus infection in three-day-old turkey poults. The study analyzed the impact of turkey astrovirus type-2 (TAstV-2), turkey rotavirus (TRotV) and turkey reovirus (TReoV) on the body weight of broad-breasted white poults. It observed huddling, diarrhea and agitation in poults infected by TAstV-2 and/or TRotV, and minimal microscopic lesions in turkeys infected with TAstV-2 and TReoV. Study authors concluded that the interactions among astrovirus, reovirus and rotavirus may have some effect on the body weights of poults.
