Abstract

The article discusses the randomised phase III trial conducted by Arbeitsgemeinschaft Gynakologische Onkologie (AGO) Breast Study Group on women with high-risk early-stage breast cancer. The patients were assigned to sequential intense dose-dense (IDD) chemotherapy with epirubicin, paclitaxel and cyclophosphamide. A brief background on the use of adjuvant chemotherapy for women with early-stage breast cancer is presented, as well as a chart showing the efficacy of dose-dense chemotherapy.
