Abstract

The article presents a study concerning the optimization program at Irving Pulp and Paper Ltd. to increase boiler production in Saint John, New Brunswick. It states that Irving Pulp and Paper is a kraft mill which aims to increase the output of black liquor dry solids from 1100 metrics per day to 1680 metric tons per day. It mentions that the goal of the program is to overcome the high total reduced sulfur (TRS) levels.
