The article is a conversation with the percussionist Martin Grubinger about a piece written for him by composer Bruno Hartl. He discusses his childhood drum lessons from his father and the necessity for a percussionist to stay physically fit. His talents for the drum and other percussion instruments are sought by classical and contemporary musical groups. He is scheduled to premier the drum piece with the Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien directed by Peter Eötvös on June 11, 2010 in Vienna, Austria.
