Abstract
- Qualitative inquiry methods (narrative analysis and thematic analysis) used to study geometry learning stories of three pre-service teachers in a method course at a large southeastern public university in the US. Results showed the lack of geometry experience of pre-service teachers, the variety of their geometry background and the importance of addressing geometry in methods courses. Furthermore, this presentation reports how the researcher used qualitative results to develop geometry activities for pre-service teachers, and how she combined these activities with use of elementary school students' work to improve geometry content knowledge of elementary school pre-service teachers in a methods course. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
