The article features NABsys and the clinical utility of its electronic, single-molecule sequencing. Its strategy to marry the advantages of nanopores with those of sequencing by hybridization is explained along with its five critical metrics for genome sequencing. Emphasis is given to scalability and a clinically relevant sequencing technology. The advantages of the NABsys system are presented along with the different approach it has taken that puts informatics first.
