Team Based Learning: A Potential Addition to the JABSOM Curriculum.

The article offers information on a teaching strategy called Team Based Learning (TBL) that is a potential addition to the curriculum of the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). Three repeating phases of the strategy are outlined, one of which requires learners to read and study material independently outside of the classroom. The current modes of instruction typically used in medical schools across the U.S. are cited, including problem based learning (PBL). One of the cited benefits of TBL is increased student engagement.
