Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined the feasibility of sericulture in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The existence of healthy mulberry plants indicates that mulberry sericulture could be a beneficial occupation in the Ladakh region. Mulberry grows towards the end of April and bears foliage from the months of May to September. To enhance mulberry sericulture, the study recommends the introduction of quality mulberry saplings and the development of nurseries in several villages.
