Abstract
- The article presents highlights of the Tarrant County Health Care Symposium held in Texas in August 2010. Texas Academy of Family Physicians chief executive officer (CEO) Tom Banning highlighted the need for more primary care physicians. Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst talked about concerns about raising the state funds necessary to implement the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) in Texas. Thomas Bond, a shareholder with law firm GreenbergTraurig, discussed the financial penalties for not getting insurance coverage.
