Palatograms of Edentulous Subjects Analyzed with an Image Processor during [sa] and [Si] Pronunciation.

Abstract: The article presents a study on the comparison between the contact patterns of tongue-to-palate and alveolar or maxillary dentures in edentulous patients during the production of [sa] [ʃi] and sounds. The method used was an image processor system employed for five averaging samples of the same sound for 10 edentulous adults. Result shows that the contact area of E was found to be wider than that of D and the distance between the right and left contact region of E was shorter than D.
