Abstract
- The article presents a numerical simulation of liquid sloshing of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in offshore LNG tanks. Sloshing is defined as a movement occurring in a limited space and is related to liquid viscosity, container arrangement and movement, and filling rate. The basic assumptions on LNG sloshing are cited, along with equations that can explain LNG sloshing. In addition, the article discusses the analysis of the effect of initial velocity, viscosity and baffles in LNG sloshing.
