Abstract

The article offers information on the groups and phrases in music which makes it easier to read and enables the musician to recognize quickly certain types of rhythmic pattern. Grouping is a process in which notes are grouped together by using beams or ties. As reported, the golden rule to observe is the minimization of ties when grouping notes together. A piece of music can be broken down into self-contained paragraphs and sentences and these musical sentences and paragraphs are called phrases.
