Abstract

The article discusses the issue of culturally responsive school leadership in the U.S. It states that a culturally responsive leader should understand the assumptions, beliefs and values about people and cultures of individuals which are different from their own. The National Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (NACTE) Leadership standard states that school leaders are responsible for the promotion of multicultural awareness, gender sensitivity as well as racial and ethnic appreciation. According to the article, school leaders should acquire the skills necessary to differentiate leadeship practices.
