Abstract

The article focuses on the construction of a Rico & Ophir Carriage Number 2408 model railroad locomotive using a South African 2 foot gauge as a design basis. Three modules were incorporated into the design concept which are the bogies, the underframe and the detachable body. The number 24 represents the length which is 2400 millimeters and the number 08 represents the number of cars built over the years. The name was derived from Colorado narrow gauge locations. Suppliers included Damon Gundry, Derek Groves and Colin Campbell.
