Abstract

In this article the author discusses the new rules on surrendering Indian passports imposed by the Government of India after acquiring the U.S. citizenship. The author says that the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin has raised their objection because they considered it undue and unnecessary to the Indian Americans community. It states that Indian consulates in the U.S. should require the surrender of Indian passports before granting Indian visas to U.S. citizens of Indian origin.
