Abstract

The article discusses the works of Mack Scogin, an architect based in Atlanta, Georgia. It describes Scogin as a Southern architect who does not create Southern architecture but his works are influenced by the subtle forces that comes with being born in the South. Scogin describes his designs as present-centered with no idea how they will be received by later generations. Several examples of Scogin's designs are provided, including the Buckhead and Clayton County libraries and the bridge for the Landmarks Group at Concourse.
