Abstract
- The article focuses on the biodiversity of species and plants in the tropic areas specially in the Yasuni National Park in Ecuador. David Jablonski and colleagues found no evidence on the relationship between habitable area and marine diversity gradients. According to Shane Wright of the University of Auckland, the reason why the tropics are the engine of biodiversity is that tropical species had more than twice the rate of molecular evolution compared to other species.
