Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to establish the clinical characteristics that categorize high-risk subsets of patients with unprotected left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease who are undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). It states the feasibility of CABG and PCI with stent implantation as therapies used on LMCA patients. It discusses LMCA disease in relation to target-vessel revascularization (TVR), bare-metal stents (BMSs), LM distal bifurcation, and acute coronary syndrome.
