Abstract
- Information on the paper and ink used on U.S. bills from a chapter of the book "How Coins and Bills Are Made" is presented. The paper used for producing bills is not made of paper but of 75% cotton and 25% linen to make it resistant to wear and tear and give a unique feel. Black ink is used for printing on the front while green ink is used on the reverse side, which prompted the use of the term "greenbacks."
