The New Thinking on ICT, Energy Consumption and the Environment.

The article presents ways to build more efficient networks to keep up with Internet demand in a sustainable way. A better way to increase subscriber base for the Internet is by adopting a new approach related to core Internet routing called hybrid optical switching. It is an architecture that enables the traffic that is not dropped off in a certain location to bypass the router and be optically amplified and regenerated so that it is ready to proceed to its final destination.
