Abstract
- Chapter 35 of the book "The Media and the Rwanda Genocide" is presented. The chapter focuses on the responsibility of journalists to report news to the public. It reflects on the fault of the news media during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda in which many journalists within the country were involved in the mass murder while international journalists misconstrued or downplayed the killing. It stresses the importance for journalists to do their job, utilize their powers and commit to their responsibilities.
