Chapter 8: Echoes of Violence: Considerations on Radio and Genocide in Rwanda.

A reprint of the article "Echoes of Violence: Considerations on Radio and Genocide in Rwanda," by Darryl Li, which appeared in the March 2004 issue of "Journal of Genocide," is presented. The article discusses the role of the radio station Radio-Télévision Libre des Milles Collines (RTLM) in the genocide. RTLM encouraged listeners to ideologically participate in the murder of the Tutsi. It also explored the contributions of RTLM commentator Ananie Nkurunziza and editor-in-chief Gaspard Gahigi to the violence.
