Abstract

The article focuses on the survey of Aleutian mink disease virus (AMDV) infection in wild American mink in Nova Scotia, Canada. It says that 14 spleen samples from trapped mink in the four counties (Kings, Colchester, Halifax and Yarmouth counties) were tested for AMDV via polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It says that the high level of AMDV-infected mink in Colchester and Halifax counties poses a serious threat to captive mink and wild animal population.
