Abstract

Two cationic geminis-iodine bactericidal composites, Gemini-I/I<subscript>2</subscript> and Gemini-II/I<subscript>2</subscript>, were prepared by synthesized geminis 1,2-bis(dimethylacryl ammonium bromide) propane and 1,2-bis(dimethylacryl ammonium bromide) hydroxyl propane with iodine. The structures of geminis and gemini-iodines were determined by two-phase chemical titration method, elemental analysis, <superscript>1</superscript>HNMR and <superscript>13</superscript>CNMR spectra and laser Raman spectra. The concentrations of gemini in products were 87.4% and 94.8%; and the effective contents of iodine in complexes were 8.6% and 10.1%. The detected result of laser Raman spectra at different temperatures °C ndicates that the weak combination exists between structures of gemini and iodine. The bactericidal values of composites at 30 mg/Lto colibacillus are 92.8% and 98.5%; and are 51.4% and 63.9% to sulfate reduction bacterials (SRB), which validates the improvement of anti-bacteria capacity of the composites.
