Abstract
- The article offers information on the contributions of biologist Maxime Lamotte to the knowledge of West African amphibians' biology. It states that the biologist has gathered numerous species of West African amphibians at various localities especially in the Mount Nimba region and these have been deposited at the Paris Museum in France. The taxonomic revisions, development of the use of morphology and morphometry in the study of amphibians, works on faunastics and ecology of amphibian and the conservation of habitat and species were some of the contributions of the biologist.
