Abstract
- Chapter 3 of the book "Global Interests: Renaissance Art of the East and the West" is presented. It explores how the horse is given a figurative meaning in art objects. It cites as an example the painting of a gift horse presented by Ludovico Maria to his father which, according to the author, shows an explicit symbolic meaning. It explains how a monument of a military man riding a horse serves as a real representation and a figure for the transposed power and glory of an imperial personage.
