Abstract

The article presents a research study concerning the relationship between children and their pets. The most common family pets in Great Britain include dogs, cats and rabbits, and pet ownership has been shown to benefit the development of children. Research found no gender differences in attitudes towards pets, and children who have pets are more likely to have positive attitudes towards pets. A pet plays an important role in the social and emotional development of children. The researchers assert that pets are important in the lives of children.
