Abstract
- The article presents a study on Mycoplasma synoviae, a major worldwide pathogen in poultry which causes respiratory tract infection and arthritis in chicken and turkeys. Surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) was used to study the presence of major surface protein A (MPSA) as an antigen for serological diagnosis. SPRi and ELISA, a conventional enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay kit, were compared in terms of their ability to measure the levels of antibody to MPSA and were found to have similar results.
