E-cadherin expression in estrogen receptor-positive and negative breast carcinomas of postmenopausal women.

The article presents a cross-sectional study which examines the immunohistochemical expression of E-cadherin relative to estrogen receptor (ER) breast carcinomas. The study included twenty-three Stage II postmenopausal infiltrating ductal breast carcinoma patients divided into two groups. The study evaluated the E-cadherin expression through a membrane staining intensity identified either positive or negative. The results manifest that E-cadherin expression is linked with ER-negative tumors.
