Abstract

The article presents a study which determined the prevalence of alterations of glucose and lipoprotein metabolism in Caucasian European obese children and evaluated the impact of acanthosis nigricans (AN) on childhood obesity. The study revealed that AN can be considered as a physical marker of insulin resistance which causes development alterations of glucose metabolism and dyslipidemia in obese children.
