Abstract

The article compares the incidences of H1N1 influenza and seasonal influenza and uses data on patients admitted to Liverpool Hospital in Sydney from June 17, 2009 to July 31, 2009. The study included 48 patients who tested positive for H1N! and 16 who tested positive for seasonal influenza. The study concludes that the two strains of influenza are comparable and that pregnant women are at risk of severe infection.
