Abstract

The article discusses the author's approach to develop students' imaginations and critical thinking through a computer animation project which used creative problem-solving strategies to help students consider problems from different points of view. The students were taught how to create a stop-motion film that used computer programs Photobooth, iPhoto, and iMovie. According to the article, creative problem-solving strategies are techniques that offer several ways of considering a problem before choosing the optimal solution. The creative problem-solving strategies including open-ended instructional problems, brainstorming and storyboarding, and peer checks are discussed.
