Abstract

As the field of cross-cultural education continues to grow, it is important to be aware of whose needs schools are addressing. One of the shifting demographics of our population is the increase in the number of international adoptions. This article examines what schools can do to support multi-racial families -- in particular, those families created through transracial adoption. It is important to note that as schools support the improvement of interracial interaction, they are supporting the preparation of multicultural citizens who are able to participate in an interdependent world.
