Abstract

The article discusses the symptoms of Dental Practice Fatigue (DPF) and suggests action items that may prevent the deterioration of the practice. Symptoms include giving patients just what they ask for, lack of re-investment and spending less time working. Suggested measures include continuing education, hiring a dentist or hygienist and re-investing in decor or technology. A dentist may also sell the practice and work for the new owners as a way of reducing stress and easing into retirement.
