Abstract
- The article presents a study on a method for calculating the accumulated dose (AD) in electron spin resonance (ESR) dating and retrospective dosimetry. The study proposes the use of a new method to correct the spectrum before the measurement of the signal intensity. It used fossil teeth from Stegomastodon and Hippidion from the southern Brazilian megafauna irradiated up to 2,500 gray (Gy) with a Cobalt γ-ray source to determine AD. One of the samples presents a dose-independent signal in the region with g-factor 2.0025.
