Abstract

The article offers information on the 19th century Turkey Vulture roost in Waukesha County , Wisconsin. Studies show that the Turkey Vulture is a species uncommon or rare and irregular as a migrant and summer resident in the state in the 1940s and early 1950s with the earliest records traced to 1902 and 1905. An unpublished report however of a vulture roost at Oconomowoc, Waukesha Co. by David Hastings showed a few vultures roosted at Oconomowoc around the mid 1880s where similar observations were not found elsewhere in the state.
