Abstract

The article focuses on tricuspid valve (TV) repair for functional tricuspid regurgitation (FTR) on patients undergoing left heart valve surgery. It discusses the historical perspective of methods to detect TR, an anatomy of the TV, pathophysiology and percutaneous TV repair and replacement technologies. Among the conclusions is that percutaneous TV technology may be useful for patients with FTR who are at high risk for open-heart surgery.
