Abstract
- The article presents a study to evaluate the effects of ankle braces with a subtalar locking system in restricting ankle inversion during passive and dynamic movements. Ankle inversion drop test and lateral-cutting movement were performed on 19 healthy subjects without history of major lower extremity injuries, without a brace and with a brace of varied types, that include one with a subtalar locking system. Results of the study suggest that a subtalar locking system is most effective in restricting ankle inversion during passive and dynamic movements.
