Abstract

The article presents a study by a group of researchers in Italy that explores the role of androgens in postmenopausal women diagnosed with breast cancer. They investigate the relation of serum testosterone level to age, body mass index (BMI), and tumor characteristics. The result shows that the cooperation of high androgen and estrogen promotes the development of breast cancer and that testosterone is found to be a marker of hormone-dependent breast cancers in post-menopausal patients.
