Abstract

The article reports on the findings of the study about the performance of colonoscopy to detect colorectal cancer (CRC) and the impact of failed diagnosis. Study shows that anemia was the clue being associated with the longest delay to endoscopy referral and milder in patients who experienced missed opportunities for the diagnosis. It is noted that missed opportunities have been commonly experienced by patients older than 75 years old, blacks, and those with congestive heart failure.
