Abstract

The article presents a study on myeloid differentiation factor (MyD) 88/interleukin (IL)-1 in the development of acute myocarditis to end-stage heart failure. It states that bone marrow origin having inflammatory infiltrates, and the MyD88 and IL-1 shown on bone-marrow derived cells were critical for the development of the disease. It notes that the role of MyD88/IL-1 in postinflammatory cardiac fibrosis and heart failure applies the need of therapeutic ways against inflammatory cardiomyopathy.
