Abstract

The article discusses modern compound hunting bows in 2008. These weapons are reportedly quiet and vibration-free and have International Bowhunting Organization (IBO) speeds of over 300 feet per second (fps). It is stated that modern bows have longer risers but shorter limbs that increase their stability and allow for easier aiming and also have slimmer grips for convenient handling by average-sized hunters. A brace height of 7.5 inches for good shooting and arrow speed is also given.
