Is Sweden a role model?

An interview with Susanne Krüger, a professor at the Stuttgart Media University in Germany, is presented. Krüger compares the Swedish Library system with that of Germany and offers a view of Sweden's national framework for library development. She tells about the controversy on the results of the 2001 Programs for International Student Assessment. She refers to the need to facilitate access to library services, an inviting and friendly library staff, as well as literacy and e-literacy skills as vital factors to the success of library services.
